What Does Being A Park Wood Parent Mean?
Park Wood is sensitive to the many difficulties faced by parents when leaving their child to be cared for by others. It cannot be emphasised enough therefore how important we feel it is for parents to be as closely involved as possible with their child’s Nursery experience. When your child starts at Park Wood you will be given a Parent Information Pack which will include a Factsheet entitled "Settling in at Park Wood". Your child may have as many complimentary ‘settling in sessions’ as required. You can contact the Nursery as many times as you like throughout your child’s day.
Each child has their own Home/Nursery Diary in which the Key Person records the their day. You will be kept informed about what your child has been doing, their daily routine, (rest, diet and toileting etc.) and any other significant events of the day (e.g. learning a new skill) or individual achievements (e.g. saying a new word). The Diary is an excellent means of communication between Parents and Park Wood. You are also invited to comment in the Diary yourself, telling us about your child’s home life and any other information you would like to share with your child’s Key Person. |
